You know you get the most out of your people and your team as a whole when they are enthusiastic about the work they are doing and believe wholeheartedly in your business.

The research results are in the book The Enthusiastic Employee, by David Sirota.  Sirota points to 3 sources of enthusiasm, and it’s the businesses who fail to implement these 3 sources that are unsuccessful in building a motivated and enthusiastic workforce and who therefore fail to drive their businesses forward to success.

The Sirota group called it the Three-Factor Theory – we will call them the 3 sources of enthusiasm.

  1. To be treated fairly
  2. To feel proud of their work and the business
  3. To be part of a strong working community with a sense of camaraderie
